YSRCP Protests Against Petrol, Diesel Price Hike in AP

The YSR Congress Party on Monday, May 18, launched peaceful protests across Andhra Pradesh against the recent hike in petrol and diesel prices. The party called for demonstrations in all Assembly constituency headquarters across the state. As part of the agitation, YSRCP leaders submitted memorandums to District Collectors, RDOs, and Tahsildars demanding an immediate rollback of the increased fuel prices.

Kakinada District

Protest at Sarpavaram Junction

YSRCP leaders staged a protest at Sarpavaram Junction in Kakinada Rural. The agitation was led by former minister and regional coordinator for the combined Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts, Kurasala Kannababu.

A rally was conducted from Sarpavaram to the MRO office, where Kannababu submitted a memorandum to officials.

Chandrababu Naidu is good only at publicity and incapable of governance.

The TDP government has deceived the people.

TDP had promised in its election manifesto that petrol and diesel prices would be reduced if voted to power.

“Was that promise thrown into the dustbin?” he questioned.

The government only knows how to burden and exploit the public.

He termed the coalition government an “administration built on lies.”

Former Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy’s Comments

Kakani Govardhan Reddy alleged that fuel prices in Andhra Pradesh are pushing common people into severe hardship.

Before the 2024 elections, Nara Lokesh visited petrol bunks and took selfies highlighting rising fuel prices.

Instead of reducing VAT after the Centre revised fuel prices, the state government increased the burden on citizens.

Former minister Ambati Rambabu criticized the coalition government over rising fuel prices.

Former MLA Koramutla Srinivasulu led a unique protest by tying a buffalo to an auto-rickshaw and pulling it during a rally from the Railway Kodur party office to the toll gate.
