Development Works on Machilipatnam Port at Brisk Pace

 - Sakshi Post

Krishna dist : Former minister Perni Nani laid the foundation stone for the construction of North Breakwaters at the Machilipatnam port on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Perni Nani told reporters that both North and South Breakwaters are being constructed. He informed that the process of soil testing related to the construction of four berths is in progress. "We're planning to complete the construction work of Machilipatnam port within 26 months," said the YSRCP leader.

Recently, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated the Machilipatnam port construction works at Manginapudi in Krishna district. The port is being developed by the AP Maritime Board at an estimated cost of Rs 5,156 crores. Once built, the Machilipatnam port will put Krishna district on the path of major development.

The YS Jagan government is working hard to fulfill people’s aspirations. Even after 75 years of independence, India has only six ports while the 4-year-old YSRCP regime is developing four ports in the state.

Meanwhile, the works at Ramayapatnam port, Kakinada Gateway port are proceeding at a brisk pace and the work for the construction of Mulapeta port is also under progress.
