Nandyal: With the election date for the Nandyal bypoll getting nearer, the ruling TDP is coming up with various ways to lure the voters.

Opposition YSRCP on Wednesday lodged a complaint with State Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal about the TDP's devious ways to lure the voters.

YSRCP General Secretary K Siva Kumar met the State Electoral officer and lodged a complaint with him stating that the TDP leaders are blatantly violating the Model Code of Conduct ahead of the election. AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directly threatening the voters to vote for the TDP, he said. TDP MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao too violated the code by seeking the votes of government staff in the BC welfare hostel in the town.

Reacting on this, Bhanwar Lal directed the Kurnool district Collector to launch an inquiry into the allegations and submit a report on it.

The bypoll is scheduled to be held on August 23. Meanwhile, YSRCP bypoll candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy exuded confidence of winning the bye-election. He said that the TDP leaders are exploring backdoor options to win the election as they have no face to show to the Nandyal people.
