MLC Damodar Reddy Leads Opposition To Nagam’s Congress Entry

Hyderabad: MLC Damodar Reddy voiced strong protest against Congress plans to admit BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy into the party fold.

Speaking to media persons, here on Thursday, he said a team consisting of DK Aruna, MP Nandi Yellaiah and himself met Congress president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi and explained about the loss to Congress if Nagam is admitted into the party fold. "Nagam is a cadre-less leader. His entry will create groupism in Congress and will impact the moral of the cadre. Further, Nagam is joining the Congress party at the behest of former union minister Jaipal Reddy," Damodar Reddy told reporters. He further alleged that Nagam is bound to lose the elections if he is given the Congress ticket. In this regard, he reminded the BJP leader's performance in the last elections where Nagam contested for an MP ticket while his son for an MLA. However, both lost the elections, he pointed out.

Nagam Janardhan is known as rabble-rouser in the Congress and BJP. Earlier, this year he challenged Chief Minister KCR to hold a public debate on corruption in Telangana and he suggested KCR to keep all the evidences ready. "Will CM KCR reply to all my questions with evidence," he questioned.

Nagam mentioned that he has all the evidence related to illegal settlements and business of the local TRS MLA Marri Janardhan Reddy. He sought to know who had permitted him to allocate Market Yard land to realtors and for road widening works.
