Los Angeles: Julianne Moore has said that director James Toback, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women, had approached her "twice" but she refused.

James Toback, 72, has been accused of sexual harassment by 38 women, who went on record to talk about their ordeal in a Los Angeles Times news report. "James Toback approached me in the 80's on Columbus Ave with the same language - wanted me to audition, come to his apt," Moore tweeted to reporter Glenn Whipp, who broke the story.

"I refused. One month later he did it again with the EXACT same language. I said don't u remember u did this before? (sic)" Moore added. The report claimed that the director sexually harassed women he hired, women looking for work and women he just saw on the street. Whipp has, meanwhile, done an update on his story, which now claims over 200 women have come forward to accuse the director of sexual harassment and misconduct.

Toback, who was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay in 1991 for Warren Beatty starrer "Bugsy", has denied the accusations and said that he never met any of the women mentioned in the report. He has said it was "biologically impossible" for him to engage in the behaviour described in the report, and claimed that he had diabetes and a heart condition that required medication. (PTI)
