‘ISIS Wants To Takeover India’

New Delhi: The Islamic State (ISIS) likes the education system and economic growth of India and want to 'takeover the country'.

These comments were made by the Indian doctor Ramamurthy Kosanam who was released from the captivity of the Islamic State recently. He reached India on Saturday. A native of Eluru in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, the doctor was in ISIS captive for a year and half. Recounting his ordeal, the doctor said he was subjected to mental torture and was forced to watch their “terrible videos”. “They forced me to watch their gory activities,” he said, adding that they would talk to him very rudely. Commenting on his experiences during the captivity, Ramamurthy said, "they are a hard-core terrorist group and want to spread their clout throughout the world.”

Ramamurthy was working as a physician in the Lbn-e-Sina Hospital at Sirte. A group of IS militants gained entry into the hospital and kidnapped him, engineer Samal Pravash Ranjan of Odisha and seven Filipino nurses from their residential quarters.
