Illegal Sand Mining Right Under Chandrababu’s Nose: YS Jagan

YSRCP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy - Sakshi Post

Gannavaram: Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh assembly and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy criticised state Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and said that illegal sand mining was happening right under his nose. The AP CM however, denied the existence of sand mafia in the state, he remarked. Speaking at a massive public meeting as part of his historic mass outreach programme Praja Sankalpa Yatra here today, YS Jagan said that the TDP in its four years of rule has only nurtured sand and soil mafia in the state.

The YSRCP Chief recalled the words of the farmers who mentioned to him that Kaliyugam has well and truly started with Chandrababu. "The farmers had never imagined that one could make money out of soil, but Chandrababu had proved that it was possible. They show me the ponds from which soil was illegally transported in the name of Neeru-Chettu programme," he said. YS Jagan observed that it was unfortunate that a CM was neck deep in corruption in multiple scams.

YS Jagan said that visionary the late Dr YS Rajashekara Reddy had a vision for the state and established Krishnaveni Krishna District Milk Producers Cooperative Federation in 2008 with the full knowledge that farm sector should be supported by animal husbandry. Ironically, as soon as Chandrababu became the CM, Krishnaveni dairy was shut down. It was the farmers who suffered the most, YS Jagan pointed out.

The Leader of Opposition said that Pulichintala project was not being completed by the TDP government only because Chandrababu did not want the late Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy to be accorded credit for it. The anti-farmer policies of the Chandrababu government were such that there was no minimum support price (MSP) for any agricultural produce and added that the MSP for paddy was brought down from Rs 1500 to less than Rs 1200.

Speaking at the massive gathering, YS Jagan said that Chandrababu did not fulfill promises nor had there been any waiver of loans. He had not been able to create employment for the people but had made tall claims on the investments received by the state as well as jobs created. "Everyone has understood that all these are false.”

The YSRCP President called for a total revamp of the political system and said that leaders who do not fulfill promises made during elections should be recalled from office. Only such drastic steps would bring about a change in our political system, he asserted. "Chandrababu successfully sidelined the Special Category Status (SCS) issue over the last four years." YS Jagan observed that jobs would be created only when the state was granted SCS.

YS Jagan assured the gathering that people’s interests would be given the highest priority under YSRCP which would base its governance on Navaratnalu.
