Housing issue rocks AP House, YSRCP stages walkout

Protesting against the TDP government’s failure to tackle the housing shortage for the poor, the YSRCP MLAs staged a walkout from the Andhra Pradesh Assembly.
Speaking on the issue, the YSRCP chief and Leader of the Opposition, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy slammed the government for not providing even a single house to the poor during the last 10 months of its governance. He said in the name of geo-tagging the government was resorting to dilatory tactics.
However, the ruling TDP resorted to diversionary tactics with ministers and MLAs attacking YS Rajasekhara Reddy. This led to heated argument in the house with both the ruling and the opposition trading charges.
Protesting against the government’s failure on the issue of housing, the YSRCP resorted to walkout. After the YSRCP members left the house, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu announced that a house committee would be formed to look into the issue.
