High Court Pours Water On RGV’s Hopes on Lakshmi’s NTR AP Release

A still from the movie - Sakshi Post

If there is one film which is making the headlines since its announcement, It is none other the Ram Gopal Varma film 'Lakshmi's NTR'. We already told you that the film hit theatres in all parts of the country except Andhra Pradesh. The film received a warm reception from critics and public alike. It is doing pretty well at the box office.

But Ram Gopal Varma is now determined to get the film released in AP too. He is leaving no stone unturned to get the ban lifted on 'Lakshmi's NTR' AP release. Not long ago, Ram Gopal Varma speaking at a press conference stated that he will move the Supreme Court High for the release of 'Lakshmi's NTR' at the earliest.

But in a setback to the director, the High Court judges who were supposed to decide the film's fate in AP after watching the film on Wednesday is said to have refused saying they can't do it when the petition is pending at the supreme court. Much to the shock of the Distributors, HC questioned how can it watch the movie and pass the judgement when the Supreme Court has to decide yet. As per latest reports, as of now, they haven't taken any decision on lifting the stay order. The next hearing of the petition has been postponed to April 9. There are no signs of 'Lakshmi's NTR' releasing before April 11.

We all aware that Andhra Pradesh 2019 Lok Sabha Elections are set to be held on April -11. The ban comes after the TDP moved the court against the release saying it could influence voters in the polls.
