Rajinikanth Is US Box Office King as Petta Overtakes Viswasam

Superstar Rajinikanth's Petta and Ajith's Viswasam are minting profits for the makers by raking in money at the box office. Since its opening in theatres, Petta is leading ahead of Ajith's Viswasam in foreign shores. Point to be noted, Rajinikanth's Petaa was released in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. Ajith's Viswasam was released only in the Tamil. The dubbed version of the film in Telugu is due to be released in the last week of this month.

Going by film critic Ramesh Bala, Rajinikanth's Petta has managed to surpass the box office collections of Viswasam across the globe. If trade reports are to be believed, Rajini's Petta has grossed Rs 150 Crores while Viswasam managed to collect Rs 120 Crores at the box office. Rajinikanth's Petta has emerged victorious in the box office race with Viswasam. But, Petta has lost out to Viswasam which was able to earn Rs 75 Crores from a single language alone. Viswasam has grossed Rs 86 Crores on its home turf.It appears Petta is ruling the roost on foreign shores. We are not saying Viswasam has ended up as a dud, but at the American box office Rajini seems to have more fans than Ajith. Check out this tweet:
