‘Don’t need an airbus, we want an Erra Bus’ - Sakshi Post

“Why do we need an airport, when we don’t even get an RTC bus to over village,” this searing and straight question was posed by young girl Narsayamma of Gudepuvalasa in Vizianagaram district. She was among those staunchly opposing the proposed Ravivalasa airport. Narsayamma would lose her two acres, all that her family has to support itself, to the airport.

She was unequivocal in her opposition to the airport when YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met her to express his solidarity with the agitating locals of Ravivalasa. “This small chunk of land is all that we have. If we lose, we would be left without anything worth the while. We would be finished. We would lose our only source of sustenance. We are ready to lay down our lives to protect our lands. We shall give our lives, but not the land,” she said determination writ large on her face.
