Hyderabad Man Kidnaps Bihar Girl With False Marriage Promise

Hyderabad: A 17-year-old girl who hails from Bihar was kidnapped in Hyderabad. The accused, Charles Gomez, who works as a fitness trainer from Bengaluru had met the girl on Facebook. He promised her marriage and kidnapped her, the police said.

The girl lives with her brother at HMT Nagar, Nacharam. She completed her Intermediate and was preparing for NEET. Few months ago, the accused Charles Gomez, a native of Kolkata approached the girl on Facebook who later exchanged their phone numbers and used to talk frequently. Gomez came to Hyderabad last week. He proposed marriage and took her to Bengaluru.

The girl's brother lodged a missing complaint with the police who traced her and arrested Gomez in Bengaluru.

M Mahesh, Nacharam inspector said: "The accused lured the victim on the pretext of marriage and took her to Bengaluru. A kidnap case was filed against him and was arrested on Saturday who was later sent to judicial remand."

Recently, in a similar incident, a man was held for threatening and kidnapping a girl. The incident took place under the Banjara Hills police station limits.

According to the police, the victim (21) lived in Madhapur at her relative's house. She works as an accountant at a private firm in Banjara Hills Road No. 12.

The accused Kadamanchi Nikhil (21) had been following the girl for some time and used to harass her in the name of love. The girl rejected his proposal several times but he didn't change his ways. Unable to bear the harassment, the girl shifted to her relative's house and changed her mobile number too.

Nikhil traced the girl's whereabouts within 10 days. He went to her office and forcibly made her sit on his bike. He also threatened to pour acid on her if she didn't go with him. Also, he threatened to kill her parents. Finally, the girl agreed to get on to the bike. They both went to LB Nagar and the girl said that she was hungry. Nikhil took her to a hotel and she loudly screamed that she was being kidnapped. The locals caught him and started beating him up after which he managed to escaped. The victim immediately informed her brother Sai Kumar. The police handed over the girl to her family members. Based on a complaint given by the girl, the police filed a Kidnap case against the accused. A search is on to nab him.
