Congress-mukt AP assembly ! - Sakshi Post

The 127-year-old Congress party, which for decades ruled Andhra Pradesh, has no representation in current assembly.

The party suffered complete rout in the recent elections in the state. As a result, for the first time ever in AP history, it doesn't have a single MLA.

Parties like Jai Samaikyandhra Party, CPI, CPM and Lok Satta too could not win even one seat in these elections.

In the final tally, there are just three parties in the assembly at present. They are TDP, BJP and YSRCP.

YSRCP got an opposition party status by winning 67 seats.

TDP won 102 seats and its ally BJP got four seats.

Independents won in two constituencies. TDP rebel Varma won from Pithapuram constituency in East Godavari district . But, he went back to TDP after winning from there.

Amanchi Krishna Mohan, who won from Chirala in Prakasam district, is the only independent MLA in the state assembly at present.
