Chiru's RS speech invites derision

Chiru's RS speech invites derision - Sakshi Post

Poor Chiranjeevi! Nothing seems to be going right for this actor-turned-politician. Even his attempt to speak in Rajya Sabha on the Polavaram issue has backfired and drew derisive laughter from the members. This was his first ever attempt to speak in the house after the party's ignomious defeat at the hustings.

Though Chiranjeevi was allotted three minutes to speak, he went on reading from the prepared script well beyond seven minutes. A visibly irritated deputy chairperson PJ Kurion's repeated requests to wind up his speech were ignored.

Unable to rein in the former minister, Kurian, known for his no-nonsense approach, shot back saying  Chiranjeevi was reading a speech written for him by someone else and said this was the way things are done in the house. He even mocked at the way Chiru was reading.

A thoroughly embarrased Chiru had to conclude hurriedly, but not before thanking everyone for patient listening. Well!  Mouthing someone else's dialogues are OK for films, but not for Rajya Sabha!
