Chandrababu Naidu Avoiding Media On MPs Resignation, Alliance With BJP

Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's call for a united fight for special status by setting aside political affiliations has left chief minister Chandrababu Naidu speechless and searching for the next course of action.

Since the Union Budget 2018 was announced, the chief minister was found to be avoiding the media and did not announce any concrete measures for the paltry funds allocated to Andhra Pradesh. Instead of agreeing for a joint struggle, the chief minister was found launching personal attacks on the YSRCP president. Similarly, he also began misleading the people through his comments that the TDP will severe alliance with the BJP if more funds are not allocated to the state in the Union Budget. However, it is common knowledge that the TDP is not in a position to break the alliance with the BJP.

CM Avoiding Media?

The actions of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu since the presentation of the Union Budget, indicates that he avoiding the media and refraining from making any direct comments on the Budget. He either encourages the TDP MPs and MLAs to make statements on the Budget or speaks to them through video conferences. The CM also makes selective leaks to the media on issues that allegedly were discussed at the TDP coordination committee meetings.

Contradictory Statements From TDP Leaders

Following YS Jagan's call for mass resignations of MPs and TDP union ministers, the Telugu Desam leaders have begun to make contradictory statements on the issue. TDP minister Adinarayana Reddy, initially, made comments that all the ministers would resign on March 5 and severe ties with the BJP at the Centre. Later, MLC Rajendra Prasad sought to clarify that the comments made by Adinarayana Reddy were his personal views. Strangely, the minister himself later admitted that the comment on resignations was his personal opinion. This gives the view that the chief minister is directing the TDP leaders to make comments on the alliance with BJP and thereby avoiding a direct and concrete statement on the issue.
