Bauxite Mining: TDP turns Visakha ZP meet into a battle ground - Sakshi Post

The ruling Telugu Desam members in Visakhapatnam zilla parishad resorted to physical attacks on YSRCP ZPTCs and MLAs when the latter tried to raise the bauxite mining issue in the ZP Council meeting held on Wednesday.

When the ZP meeting began, the YSRCP members insisted that the ZP Council pass a resolution opposing the bauxite mining in tribal areas of Visakhapatnam district. However, the ruling TDP members obstructed the speeches of YSRCP members and TDP MLAs Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy and Peela Govind physically snatched away the mike of YSRCP MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao.
YSRCP MLAs Kidari and Giddi Eswari strongly decried the ruling party's hooliganism and said the incident was a dark chapter in Vizag's history. Left with no option, the YSRCP members and MLAs staged a walkout.
