Banks, ATMs Closed Again Today

Hyderabad: Banks across the state remained closed in Hyderabad and Telangana state on Guru Nanak Jayanthi on Monday. However, SBH branches are working in Telangana only for government payments. There won't be any exchange of currency for the day.
The banks had worked on Saturday and Sunday, but not even half the customers queued up to exchange old currency could get new currency. Not many ATMs were working and most of them remained closed on Monday along with banks.
Rs 2,000 notes would be available in ATMs from Monday
However, the banks in AP are working.
Meanwhile, banks have been advised by Union Finance Ministry on Sunday to increase the cash withdrawal limit at the ATMs from Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500. The exchange limit has also been increased from Rs 4,000 to Rs 4,500.
"Rs 2,000 notes would be available in ATMs from Monday," said B. Seetha Rambabu, All India Bank Employees’ Association secretary.
