Tadikonda Dalit MLA Vundavalli Sridevi, Home Minister M Sucharitha Meet AP CM YS Jagan - Sakshi Post

Amaravati: Tadikonda MLA Vundavalli Sridevi called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and briefed him about the incident where she was not allowed to participate in the Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations, in Thullur on September 2nd.

She met him along with Home Minister Methakoti Sucharitha at his residence in Tadepalli on Thursday and explained to him about the atrocities committed by the TDP leaders.

Responding to the incident the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that no woman in the state, whether she belongs to the ruling party or opposition should go through this insult. He said that people should work in an environment where the weaker and downtrodden sections should be included and respected. YS Jagan said that such incidents would be treated seriously, and strict action would be taken by the Government against those who dishonoured women. He directed Home Minister Sucharitha to look into the matter and take stern action against those who insulted the MLA.

Ministers Pinipe Viswaroop and Mangalagiri MLA and CRDA Chairman Alla RamaKrishna Reddy were present in the meeting with the Chief Minister.

TDP Leaders insulted MLA Vundavalli Sridevi during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at Anantavaram village in Thullur District. TDP Leaders and activists stopped her from taking part in pooja rituals by saying that God will lose his glory if she took part in the pooja as she was a Dalit woman. This issue went viral and people started criticising TDP leaders for insulting a Dalit lady in the name of caste.
