YS Jagan Grills Chandrababu Over Special Status

Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy grills Chandrababu over his changed stand on special status in the Assembly on Thursday - Sakshi Post

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Assembly was rocked by Opposition's demand for an explanation by the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu over his changed stand on getting a Special Category Status for the state.

Participating in a debate on the Governor's speech on Thursday, Opposition Leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy grilled the CM on his claims about Polavaram project and accepting a special package in lieu of a special status.

Rejecting CM's claims, YS Jagan said Polavaram project is not an achievement of Chandrababu Naidu but the major portion of it was completed by the then Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy. "In fact, Chandrababu Naidu is only trying to make money out of the project by giving contracts to his henchmen and the kin of Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on a nomination basis which is illegal," Jagan said.

"When Mr Chandrababu Naidu knew the Centre is not going to accord special status to AP way back in 2014, why did he send Assembly resolutions in 2015 twice demanding the status?" he questioned and stated that it was nothing but misleading the people for his own political advantage.
