Youth Held For Harassing Woman Through Social Media

Hyderabad: Jeevan Sharma (24) was arrested by Jawahar Nagar police for harassing a woman through social media and sending abusive messages to her phone.

The accused and the victim hail from the same place - Ramagundam. Police said that the victim met him while she was doing her PG course and later moved to Hyderabad after securing a job in a bank.

Jeevan started harassing her on pretext of marriage and sent messages despite her disapproval. Following which, the victim lodged a complaint against Jeevan in September last year. However after coming out of bail he again started harassing her.

Police filed a case under IT Act. The accused has been remanded to custody and police are planning to detain Jeevan under PD Act.
