Is Prabhas Eyeing Political Career?

Prabhas, fondly called darling by his fans is now directing his mind towards production. Yes, if reports doing the rounds is anything to go by, then the actor is reportedly planning to finance a movie which is being produced by his close friend. And this bit of news has naturally grabbed headlines as the movie is abiopic of a politician. Prabhas who always stayed away from politics has now shown interest in the movie.

Looks like all that talk about Prabhas starting his own business is finally taking shape.

Touted to be a biopic on the late Andhra Pradesh chief minister Dr YS Rajasekhera Reddy, the film has been named Yatra. Malayalam actor Mammootty has been roped in to play the role of YSR, who was the chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh.

Though Prabhas has been approached many times for  political films, he never gave his nod as the subject is completely different from his interests. Now, on learning about the actor funding a political movie, many of the fans have raised their eyebrows as the film completely focuses on the political journey of YSR. But the fact is that Prabhas is providing financial help to the movie only because of his close friend Vijay, who is the producer of the movie.

From romantic entertainers to fantasy movies, Prabhas has nailed every look and the audience too has resoponded to his experiments in a positive manner. But they have never seen the actor as a leader on the screen. Will his interest on Yatra divert his mind to political stories or even a career in politics? If this happens, the actor has to give up his darling tag (just saying).

Currently, the actor is shooting for an action drama Saaho, which features Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor and Evelyn Sharma as the female lead.
