Hyderabad: Bring an end to the scorching summer in the Telugu states, the Southwest Monsoon arrived on Friday. As per the forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department in Hyderabad, the monsoon was delayed by a week, however, the delay won't see any effect on the amount of rainfall to hit AP and Telangana.

In an official release, the IMD stated that the southwest monsoon has advanced into Telangana and already covered most of the areas on Day One.

While forecasting heavy rains in isolated places in the state on Saturday, the IMD has stated that the farmers can proceed with sowing seeds and other agricultural activities.

Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh, the monsoon has covered all the districts while the northern districts in Telangana are yet to receive monsoon showers. In southern and eastern parts of Telangana, moderate to heavy rainfall was recorded.

Regions such as Yellareddy, Kamareddy, Hyderabad, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Ramagundam and few others received moderate rainfall while the remaining areas in the state are likely to receive rainfall in the next couple of days.
