Honest Auto-Rickshaw Driver Returns Cash, Jewellery To Passenger
Hyderabad: In an exemplary show of honesty, an auto-rickshaw driver returned Rs 1.5 lakh left behind by a passenger. Going into the details, the passenger was carrying the money along with other silver ornaments for her daughter's marriage.
The incident took place on Monday morning when the passenger of Rehmathnagar carried the cash in a bag and boarded the auto-rickshaw at SR Nagar in Hyderabad. The woman, later got down the vehicle when she reached the destination, leaving the bag of cash on the seat.
Meanwhile, the auto-rickshaw driver Syed Mehtab, a resident of SR Nagar saw the bag on the seat when he was about to take another passenger. He opened the bag to find the jewellery and cash inside. He immediately approached the police to hand over the cash. The police lauded Syed for his noble gesture.
The woman, on the other hand, filed a complaint regarding her missing bag with the police, who traced the auto-rickshaw driver. Upon further inquiry, they found out that the driver had returned the cash, which was then handed over to the passenger.
