PIL Against Lakshmi’s NTR For The Sake Of Praise From Chandrababu, Says Producer

Telangana High Court - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Seeking dismissal of the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed against his film, Lakshmi's NTR, producer P Rakesh Reddy filed an affidavit before the Telangana High Court on Tuesday.

The producer stated that the TDP MLA SVSN Varma filed the PIL to please Telugu Desam Party Chief Chandrababu Naidu.

The petition was filed seeking deletion of the song 'Kutra-Daga' (Conspiracy) from the movie as it is defaming Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

In his counter petition, Rakesh Reddy said that PILs were filed to aid those who cannot speak for themselves, however, the current PIL has not been filed by the alleged person who thinks that they will be personally harmed by the film, but by his follower.

Pointing out that the song was written by famous writer Sri Sri before NTR became Chief Minister, the producer also stated that the allegations against Chandrababu are nothing new in regard to NTR's downfall.

He further said that NTR himself mentioned when he was alive and his widow Lakshmi Parvathi as well repeatedly stated how NTR was dethroned from his CM's seat. He even mentioned NTR's elder son-in-law Daggubati Venkateswara Rao writing a book in this context.

Saying that the allegedly affected person can file a Civil suit or defamation case if they have any objection to the song, he appealed to the court to consider all the aspects and dismiss the petition.
