Raja Singh Vs Owaisi In Hyderabad Lok Sabha?

Hyderabad: The Telangana BJP leaders put an end to speculation by rubbishing reports that Gosha Mahal MLA Raja Singh would be fielded against the Muslimeen AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi in the upcoming elections. Party sources pointed out that the BJP would not announce a candidate without consulting local and national level leaders.

Also, no official information has been sent out on the Lok Sabha candidate from Hyderabad constituency, after BJP National President's last month's visit to the city. Amit Shah gave an appointment to Raja Singh to reportedly enquire about the party's position in the Old City.

However, several media reports suggested that the BJP MLA's name had been unofficially confirmed for Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency. BJP Telangana unit President Dr Lakshman said that if the party had decided, it would have announced the news through media. Rumours indicate that the national party plans to cash in on Raja Singh's popularity to bag Muslim votes in 2019. Since 2014, the Gosha Mahal legislator has been instrumental in expressing his views on several Muslim minority issues, Kashmir, cow ban, Triple Talaq and others, on the national stage.
