River tragedy: Telangana home minister leaves for Himachal - Sakshi Post

Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy has reached Himachal Pradesh to personally monitor rescue and relief operations of students who went missing in a river following a flash-flood caused by sudden release of water from a dam upstream.

The minister first reached New Delhi, from where he flew to Kullu to personally oversee the rescue operations for 24 students of a Hyderabad-based VIT college. 

Meanwhile five bodies of the ill-fated students were recovered so far. The search operations are still on. According to minister K Tarak Rama Rao, a control room was opened in the office of Hyderabad district collector to provide information about the tragedy. 

Meanwhile, the AP government too is making efforts to bring back the bodybags. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has also offered to send the parents of the missing students to Himachal by a special flight. 

Andhra Pradesh Minister Narayana and IAS official Satish Chandra would soon be leaving for Himachal to monitor rescue and relief work.
