November 11 Bank Holiday; Check state-wise list!

Banks across Bihar will remain open today, November 11, 2025, even as the state conducts the second phase of its Legislative Assembly elections, according to the Reserve Bank of India’s regional holiday schedule.

The first phase of polling was held on November 6, during which banks in several districts of Bihar remained closed. The second and final phase of voting, covering 122 assembly constituencies, is taking place today, while the election results are scheduled to be declared on November 14.

Bank Holiday for Bihar Assembly Elections

The Bihar Legislative Assembly elections are being conducted in two phases to elect 243 members to the state assembly. The first phase, held on November 6, covered 121 constituencies, and the second phase, held today, completes the polling process.

Unlike the first phase, banks in Bihar will not observe a holiday today, as per the RBI’s region-wise bank holiday calendar. This ensures that financial operations and essential banking services continue without disruption.

When Are Banks Closed in November?

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) grants regional holidays across the country to observe important national, religious, and state-specific events. Apart from these occasions, banks are closed on all Sundays and on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month.

For November 2025, there are no additional holidays beyond the weekends, meaning banks will operate on most weekdays. The third and fifth Saturdays will remain working days.

List of Bank Holidays in November 2025

While Bihar banks are open today, several regions across India have already observed bank holidays earlier this month for various festivals and events.

November 1: Banks in Karnataka remained closed for Kannada Rajyotsava, commemorating the 1956 unification of Kannada-speaking regions. In Dehradun, banks were shut for Igas-Bagwal, also known as Budhi Deepawali.

November 5: Banks were closed in cities such as Aizawl, Belapur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, and Kohima on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti, Kartika Purnima, and Rahas Purnima.

November 6: Banks in Shillong remained closed to mark the Nongkrem Dance Festival, a traditional Khasi event featuring dance performances and ceremonial offerings.

November 7: Shillong observed another closure for the Wangala Festival, during which tribal communities honour Saljong, the Sun God.

November 8: In Bengaluru, banks were shut in observance of Kanakadasa Jayanthi, celebrating the birth anniversary of poet and social reformer Kanakadasa.

In total, five regional bank holidays were observed across India in November, excluding weekends.

Banking Services Available on Holidays

Even when physical branches are closed, customers can continue to access digital and online banking services. Internet banking, mobile banking apps, and ATMs remain fully operational nationwide, ensuring seamless financial transactions.

Services such as NEFT and RTGS transfers, demand drafts, chequebook requests, and credit or debit card applications can be managed online. Customers can also submit account maintenance forms, locker applications, and standing instruction setups through digital channels.

Summary

While the second phase of Bihar Assembly Elections is underway today, banks in the state remain open and continue regular operations. Customers can visit branches for in-person banking or use online services for uninterrupted access to their accounts. The next round of bank holidays will occur only during the weekends later this month.
