YSRCP Seeks Probe into 4.30 Lakh Bogus Votes

 - Sakshi Post

Vijayawada: A delegation of YSRCP led by ministers Jogi Ramesh and Chelluboina Srinivasa Venugopala Krishna on Wednesday met State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Mukesh Kumar Meena and lodged a complaint against the TDP for enrolling the Telangana voters in Andhra Pradesh. The party delegation submitted a representation to the CEO and urged the commission to stop the inclusion of bogus votes in the electoral rolls.

Recently, the TDP leaders had conducted an AP voter registration drive in parts of Hyderabad. The voter registration banner was spotted in Pragati Nagar of the city. Addressing the media persons, the minister Jogi Ramesh said the opposition party is trying every trick in the book to cheat the people and attempting to include duplicates votes in the voters’ list.

“In a democracy, a person is not entitled to register in the electoral roll for more than one constituency. We found that some people have votes in two or three places. We have asked the Election Commission to investigate over 4 lakh 30 thousand duplicate votes,” Jogi Ramesh told reporters here.

He said the YSRCP respects democracy while the TDP is adopting undemocratic means to win the upcoming assembly elections in the state. There are thousands of bogus votes in the Telugu states and appealed to the CEO to address the bogus issue, he added.

The chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is hoping that the elections will be held in a transparent manner. The TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is a master in managing systems and deceiving people is his agenda,” Chelluboina Srinivasa said.
