Girl Forced To Eat Cow Dung To Cure Her Sickness

Mumbai: In a bizarre incident, a 17-year-old was forced to eat cow dung by a godman as a remedy for her sickness. The incident came to light after its video went viral on WhatsApp. A case against six persons, including the girl's father and the `tantrik,' was registered.

Chakur DCP Vikas Naik said, "the girl suffered from a perennial stomach ache and the family members suspected that she was a victim of some black magic, and took her to a tantrik in Bidar district on June 4."

The victim was a first year BA student and was accompanied with another woman from the same village who suffered from from epilepsy. She was also forced to eat the cow dung. In the process , one of the accused took videos of the proceedings and later circulated them on WhatsApp.

A case under the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman Evils and Aghori Practise and Black Magic Act, 2013 have been registered. So far, police arrested Prabhakar Kesale (35), Gangadhar Shewale (65), Pandit Kore (37) and Dagadu Shewale (40).
