Vijay’s Sarkar Breaches 1 Million Mark, Equals Mersal, Theri Record

Illayathalapathy Vijay is on cloud nine what with his latest venture Sarkar on a roll at the box office. The film has set the cash registers ringing ever since it hit the marquee.

Despite all the controversies and objections surronding the film, Sarkar continues to rule box office. In a latest, Sarkar has equalled the record set by Vijay's earlier films Theri and Mersal. Have a look at this tweet posted by an industry tracker.

Sarkar was directed by AR Murugadoss whose previous collaboration with Vijay (Thuppaki) was a success too. The Tamil flick was produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures banner. AR Rahman has rendered the music along with Qutub E kripa which is being hailed as one of the highlights by critics.

Sarkar features Keerthy Suresh, Papri Ghosh, Pala karupaiah and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in prominent roles.Sarkar is a political thriller which takes a dig at the current day voting systen in India. The film is still running to packed houses across the world.
