The Last Phone Call That Triggered Suicide

Khammam: Durga Prasad and Usha Rani got married two months back. But due to differences between them, Usha committed suicide.

According to the police, Gopisetti Durga Prasad is a tractor driver from Somulagudem. He was married to Chinnamsetti Usha Rani (19), from Old Palwancha two months ago. They were happy for one month later they started fighting with each other over trivial things on a daily basis.

On Friday morning, Usha Rani was at home while Durga Prasad went out. It is learned that the couple exchanged a phone conversation. Within minutes after the call, Usha is believed to have committed suicide by hanging herself.

The neighbours rushed to the spot and helped to bring her down. They also shifted her to a local hospital but the doctors declared that she had already died. Durga Prasad learned the matter and went to the banks of Kinnerasani lake. He too attempted to commit suicide by holding 11KV powerline of the transformer there. He received a shock and locals rushed him to the area hospital. Later they shifted him to Kothagudem hospital for treatment.

Based on a complaint given by the Usha Rani's parents, SI Anil filed a case and started probing the matter.
