Chandrababu delaying Kapu reservations

Chandrababu delaying Kapu reservations - Sakshi Post

Former Minister and Kapu strongman Mudragada Padmanabham on Tuesday took Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to task on the issue of giving BC status to the Kapus. He said if Chandrababu is sincere, he should not adopt delaying tactics by appointing a commission on the issue. He should immediately include Kapus in the BC list, he said.

"A commission is nothing but a delaying tactic. The report will take years to come. The government has all the relevant details and statistics about the Kapu population and should include them in the BC list within a month," he said.

He said he was fighting for the cause of the poor among the Kapus. Mudragada Padmanabham further said that the first agitation for Kapu reservation was supported by none other than Chandrababu. "Though he promised reservations to Kapus within six months of coming to power, it is already 18 months and nothing has happened," he said.

He said the Kapus would organise a meeting soon at Tuni in East Godavari district, where they would announce the future course of action on the issue of reservations.
