YS Jagan Announces 7 Lakh Relief To Families Of AP Farmers Who Committed Suicide

In a sensational decision, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced relief to families of farmers who committed suicide due to crop loss or lack of government support. The farmer's leader has instructed the officials concerned to provide immediate relief to the farmer families. According to reports, Rs 7.5 lakhs would be paid as relief to families of farmers who committed suicide in the last five years.

As per records, 1513 farmers in Andhra Pradesh have committed suicide. The previous government led by TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu had provide relief to families of only 391 victims, it is said. As per the directions of the Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the district collectors would directly approach the families and provide relief.

This has come as a huge relief and spread cheer among farmers.

YS Jagan asked the collectors to join hands with MLAs of the region and examine farmers records. He also asked them to stand by farmers in times of distress. YS Jagan asked MLAs to stay connected to farmers and ensure the latter did not face any problems.
