Amaravati: Amidst the allegations that Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu's security cover has been downgraded, DGP Gautam Sawang clarified that they were not ture. He also dismissed the accusations that political violence had gone up in the State after elections.

Speaking exclusively to Sakshi, Sawang pointed out that the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had instructed to be non-partisan in protecting law and order in the State.

He also informed that there would be no political interventions henceforth in transfers and in promotions in the department. In wake of allegations against the conduct of ACB in the State, he said efforts were made to look into issues.

Lauding the State government's move to let police staff have weekly offs, Sawang said Chief Minister has an intention to initiate reforms in the Police department. "This decision of the State government will let police work with more commitment towards the people of the State," he added.
