YV Subba Reddy  Set To Become TTD Chairman

YV Subba Reddy to become TTD Chairman - Sakshi Post

Amaravati: After days of intense speculation, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy finally zeroed in on Ongole former MP and senior YSRCP leader YV Subba Reddy for the post of chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) board. The official orders to this effect are still awaited.

After YSRCP stormed into power, several leaders vied for the coveted post. Particularly, the names of Tirupati MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy and actor Manchu Mohan Babu did rounds. While Mohan Babu dismissed the reports of being in the race, Karunakar Reddy is believed to have made strenuous efforts to occupy the post. He is said to have put forward his past experience as he had already held the post for two years between 2006 and 2008.

After winning the Ongole Lok Sabha seat in 2014, Subba Reddy relinquished his post for the cause of Special Status to Andhra Pradesh. Although he expected a ticket for Ongole Parliament segment in 2019, he was denied a ticket. Subba Reddy is known to be interested in social service and have a spiritual inclination, which seems to have tipped scales in his favour.

TTD chairman is a prestigious position as the person gets Cabinet rank along with other perks. The person in question oversees a cash-rich Tirupati temple, which arguably is the richest Hindu temple in the world.
