Drinking Water Funds Diverted to Pasupu Kumkuma Scheme: Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy

AP Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy - Sakshi Post

Amaravati: Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy accused the previous Telugu Desam party (TDP) government of diverting the funds allocated for the Drinking Water Corporation to the Pasupu Kumkuma scheme.

Speaking to the media on Monday, he said that the TDP government had called for tenders after the drinking water corporation was formed in the villages for a sum of Rs 17,730 crore. He said that seven consultancies were given these tenders in a hurried manner just before the elections and all this was done only for commissions, he alleged.

The Minister said that the tenders previously called for would be cancelled and new Documents, Detailed Project Reports( DPRs) would be prepared. The new DPRs will be made available to all villages in a phase wise manner, he said.
