Hyderabad: YSRCP MLA Kodali Nani has found fault with AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's claim that the Nandyal byelection victory was due to the developmental activities undertaken during the TDP's regime in the state.

Speaking to media persons at YSRCP office here on Tuesday, Nani challenged the TDP that the 20 turncoat MLAs who switched over to the TDP should resign to their posts and contest the elections afresh. Nani also threw a gauntlet to the ruling TDP to contest the elections in all the 175 Assembly constituencies in the state. "Only then, the YSRCP would accept it has a referendum," he said.

Nani recalled how Chandrababu had lost deposits in two MP Lok Sabha constituencies while he was in opposition. While elections were held for 44 constituencies, the TDP had lost deposits in 21 constituencies, he said.

The YSRCP MLA also recalled that the TDP had lost five times in total of eight elections that were held so far in Chandrababu's stronghold — Naravaripalle. Nani further exuded confidence that YSRCP would come to power in 2019.
