Woman And Her Boyfriend Strangulate Drunkard Husband

Mahabubnagar: A woman and her boyfriend were arrested on Friday for allegedly murdering her husband at Shadnagar.

According to the police, Kavali Anjaneyulu was married to Lakshmi and was working as an auto driver to make his living. As he was addicted to alcohol, he would torture his wife and beat her repeatedly. Fed up with the husband's torture, the woman developed a relation with one Hanumanthu, who is working in the Army and the duo hatched a plan to kill her husband. On June 14, the army officer returned to Hyderabad to execute the plan. The officer called Anjaneyulu on phone and asked to pick him up in Hyderabad.

On the officer's request, the auto driver went to the city, met him and the duo headed to their village. They halted at Farooqnagar and had some alcohol. Seeing Anjaneyulu in drowsy state, Hanumanthu thrashed him and later strangulated him with his boots and fled the spot.

Shadnagar CI Srinivasa Chary registered a case and on an inquiry Lakshmi and Hanumanthu confessed to the crime. The police arrested the accused and sent them in remand.
