United Opposition Criticises Chandrababu’s Attitude Over SCS

N Chandrababu Naidu - Sakshi Post

Vijayawada: All the opposition parties in the state have objected to the attitude of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Special Category Status (SSC) for the state. In a meeting conducted by an organisation working for the implementation of bifurcation act, YSR Congress Party leader Parthasarathi said that the CM was leading the people into a state of confusion and cheating the public. He questioned if the funds have been allocated to the state or not as mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act. He alleged Chandrababu was working for his benefits and completely ignoring the state.

In the same meeting CPI state secretary Ramakrishna said that Chandrababu thinks that the Special Category Status to the state was equal to the Special Package. "Now that he has understood nothing is coming from centre he is confusing the public. Chandrababu has to come out of the uncertainty which he has got in mind or else he needs to be medically treated," he pointed out. He called upon all the parties to join hands in a final showdown with the centre.

Echoing the same concern, CPM state secretary Madhu mentioned that it will take 30 years for Andhra Pradesh to recover from this set back. He expressed his shock over the BJP leaders taking four years time to persuade centre to allocate separate railway zone to the state. Out of the allocated Rs 9000 crores to the state only Rs 420 crores has been sanctioned, he informed and continued that it was not a healthy sign for the state. The government has not been able to setup all party meet on this till date, he informed and said both the centre and state were playing around. He added the future course of action would be decided on March 6.

Former minister Konathala Ramakrishna told that opposition party members and public would hold a candle light protest on March 4 at Ramakrishna Beach in Visakhapatnam. He said after the immense success of Uttarandhra Janaghosha (North Andhra People's Agitation) on February 2 at Narsipatanam, Vijayanagaram and Madugula, they plan to continue the programme till March 2 in all the important centres of north Andhra districts.
