Trouble Brewing In TDP: Bhuma Akhilapriya Drops Bombshell, Vizianagaram MLAs Skip Ranga Rao’s Programme

Bhuma Akhilapriya in Vijayawada - Sakshi Post

Nothing seems to be going right for the TDP. Ever since it managed to lure some MLAs from YSRCP, the tussle between the new entrants and old timers is intensifying. Two major incidents on Wednesday show that all is not well in the TDP.

In Vizianagaram newly-inducted minister Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao attended a key meeting. However, a majority of the TDP MLAs from the district skipped the meeting. They registered their protest against Sujaya Krishna Ranga Rao being given a minister's post. He was elected on YSRCP ticket and later joined the Congress.

Significantly, Bhuma Akhilapriya made this statement without consulting Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. This unilateral statement has undermined the authority of Chief Minister and TDP supremo. Also, her statement came barely hours before Kurnool TDP strongman Silpa Mohan Reddy was to meet the CM to discuss about Nandyal bypoll.

In another incident that again exposed the faultlines within the TDP, junior minister in TDP Government Bhuma Akhilapriya dropped a bombshell about Nandyal by-elections, which were necessitated by her father Bhuma Nagireddy's demise. She said someone from Bhuma's family would be TDP's candidate and added that she would announce the candidate on April 24, which is Shobha Nagireddy's death anniversary.

Significantly, she made this statement without consulting Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. This unilateral statement has undermined the authority of Chief Minister and TDP supremo. Also, her statement came barely hours before Kurnool TDP strongman Silpa Mohan Reddy was to meet the CM. Silpa family is staunchly opposed to Bhuma clan. They were unhappy when Bhuma and his daughter were brought into the TDP. Silpa Mohan Reddy is making a strong bid to secure party ticket and Chandrababu has already deployed Minister Achannaidu to pacify him. Bhuma Akhilapriya's statement at this juncture will only serve to further deepen faultlines.
