Narayankhed, Medak Will Be Seats To Keep An Eye On

Narayankhed Assembly constituency is in Sangareddy district of Telangana and is a part of Zahirabad Lok Sabha constituency. Mahareddy Bhupal Reddy of Telangana Rashtra Samithi represented the constituency in the recently dissolved House. Bhupal Reddy won the seat for the first time in 2014.  Of the 1,98,234 votes, Mahareddy Bhupal Reddy bagged 93,076 and Patlolla Sanjeeva Reddy 39,451.

This time around, Bhupal Reddy is running for his second term against former MP Suresh Kumar Shetkar. This constituency has been a major stronghold of Congress for a long time. The erstwhile Medak district was seen as a fortress of the Congress for a fair length of time, barring a phase when the TDP made inroads into it. The TRS riding the Telangana sentiment, changed the political landscape of the entire region.

Medak Assembly constituency is Medak district, Telangana and is one of 2 constituencies in Medak district. Medak constituency is a part of Medak Lok Sabha constituency. Padma Devender Reddy, represented this constituency from the recently dissolved House. She also held the position of deputy Speaker of Telangana Legislative Assembly. Padma Devender Reddy mustered 89, 654votes out of 1,99,553 votes.  The Congress candidate actor turned politician Vijayashanti could bag 50,054 votes.

TRS has fielded Padma Devender Reddy once again from the constituency. The Mahakutami or grand alliance has fielded Janardhan Reddy from the Telangana Jana Samithi, Prof. Kodandaram's outfit. Telugu Desam party once held sway over the constituency, and won the seat on a majority of occasions, with Karnam Ramchandra Rao winning the seat four times. However, the party has now lost its sheen in most parts of Telangana, barring a few pockets.
