KTR - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Former municipal administration minister KT Rama Rao has vowed to take the Hyderabad metro to next level and is mulling to take the metro rail line along the entire 160 km stretch of the outer ring road.

Approaching a 'Look East' policy, the minister said the focus of the government is to de-congest Hyderabad city and develop the East region.

Addressing a meeting of builders on Friday, the TRS president said that the plan includes developing areas beyond Uppal and LB Nagar. The city would be developed towards Pocharam, Medchal, Keesara, Shameerpet, and other sides.

KTR said that out of the 72 km metro rail planned in the city, 56 km of it has been completed and the rest of it will be completed in a year.

Hitting out at the Centre he said that the Narendra Modi government gave Rs 18,000 crore for the Mumbai metro but none for Hyderabad metro.

Talking about other initiatives, KTR said that the land registration rates will be rationalised, and also provide conclusive rights of title ownership to landowners. He calls it one of the biggest initiatives.

Explaining the land ownership initiative, KTR said that at the time of mutation, officials will check on the type of land and also the clarity on the ownership of the land. Once, that is made clear, officials will begin registration.

If the ownership is challenged later, the government will take the responsibility to defend the landowner and his rights. Also, the entire land will be GIS mapped.
