No Objection To Congress-TDP Alliance: Bhatti Vikramarka

TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Working President and MLA fom Madhira constituency, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Thursday clarified that the party has no objections to working along with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the upcoming elections. Speaking to media at Gandhi Bhavan here, the Congress leader felt that the situation has changed drastically with regard to the TDP since its inception in 1982. Adding that there is a nation-wide mood for formation of alliances currently, he said that a pact with the TDP was possible.

Bhatti Vikramarka said that a number of political parties were interested in allying with the Congress. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) is trying to mislead the people of the State by sparking a debate over the possibilty of early elections, he alleged. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders are gripped by a fear of being questioned by the people of the State over their election promises, he added.

Last month, Telangana Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Shabbir Ali said suggested that the party's top leadership would decide on the pre-poll alliance with TDP's Telangana outfit.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is making great strides in his efforts to befriend the Congress party ever since the TDP quit the alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party. Recently, the TDP voted in favour of the Congress candidate for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.
