Paisa Vasool Review: Only For Fans And Family; Others Strictly Prohibited 

Paisa Vasool portrays Balakrishna in a different image than his decades old screen persona. The director wanted to break the senior hero's well-established screen image of a serious, mature and powerful leader, but it is damaged, very badly in Paisa Vasool.

Balayya’s strengths are underutilized. Theda Singh’s characterization works only in few scenes but not as full length role. The first half of the movie is dull and mediocre while second half is slightly better.

Only a few scenes would allow the audience to sit in peace. Three songs, Portugal sequences are good. The plot is just another template story of Puri Jagannadh. As Theda Singh's pet dialogue goes, Paisa Vasool "is only fans and family."

Fans will definitely enjoy Balayya's high energetic performance. Shriya looks cute as usual. The comedy part is Bala (Balakrishna) lectures about greatness of India to establish his heroism without any backdrop.

'Kannu Kannu Kalisayi', a melody song on Balakrishna and Shriya is good. Balakrishna rescuing Shriya in Portugal was the best part of the movie. Balayya's mannerisms in the fight are impressive.

Maava Ek peg laa... rendered by Balakrishna himself attracts audience cheers. Balayya who works as a cab driver in Portugal shows a lot of energy in this song.

Puri Jagan has attempted a comedy characterization of Balakrishna who has a larger than life heroic image on screen but it was an utter failure.

The storyline is just typical Puri mark commercial formula. First half is average. The other songs 'Padha marii' and remake of 'Konte Navvu Cheptondi' are also shot well with Balakrishna's hilareous steps. Hero's entry song 'Paisa Vasool' is also ok.

On the whole, Paisa Vasool seems to be a movie only for fans and family and it would be disastrous for general audience.
