War of Words Between TRS and Congress After Rahul Gandhi Took a Swipe at KCR’s National Political Ambitions

Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has strongly reacted to the criticism of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who had ridiculed Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar’s ambition to make a mark on the national political scene.

Referring to Rahul Gandhi, the TRS working president KT Rama Rao on Tuesday said ‘wannabe PM’ should first convince his people to elect him as an MP than ridiculing KCR’s national party ambition.

Taking to Twitter, the TRS leader hit back at Rahul Gandhi said, “International leader Rahul Gandhi who can't even win his own parliament seat in Amethi ridicules Telangana CM KCR's national party ambition. Wannabe PM should first convince his people to elect him as an MP.”

Notably, Rahul Gandhi-led Bharat Jodo Yatra is passing through Hyderabad today. Earlier on Monday, responding to a mediaperson’s query on KCR’s national party, the Wayanad MP had ridiculed the TRS leader is free to believe that he is running a global party.

“If the chief minister of Telangana believes that he is running a national party, that is perfectly okay. There is no problem, he can believe it. That is also fine if he believes he is running a global party. So these are all things that he can do and can imagine,” Rahul Gandhi told reporters.

Later, a senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh replied to KTR’s jibe and said Congress ‘lives in a democracy’ unlike TRS’ ‘Nizam Shahi’.

“We live in a democracy. Congress is not a party which runs on Nizam Shahi. We know the 8th Nizam is sitting in Hyderabad,” Jairam Ramesh said.
