Telangana: Four Children Meet Watery Grave in Krishna River in Gadwal

Gadwal: In a tragic incident, four children in the age group of 7 and 17 drowned while swimming in the Krishna River in Gadwal on Monday. The incident occurred in Pallepadu village of Manopadu mandal in the district. 

The deceased were identified as 17-year-old Afreen, 7-year-old Nousheen, 15-year-old Rihaan, and 8-year-old Sameer. 

A group of 10 people had gone for a swim in the Krishna River and four of them met watery graves despite the attempts made by locals to rescue them, according to the police. 

The victims were hailing from Valluru village in Itikyala mandal. A pall of gloom descended in the village when the bodies were brought there. The parents and relatives of the teenagers are inconsolable. 

The police have registered a case and an investigation is underway.
