In view of the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election, authorities have declared paid holidays for schools, colleges, and government offices within the constituency. The polling will be held on November 11, while vote counting is scheduled for November 14, 2025. The by-election was necessitated following the death of sitting BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath earlier in June.

According to an official order issued by Hyderabad District Collector Harichandana Dasari, the holidays will be observed on three key dates — November 10 (Monday), November 11 (Tuesday – polling day), and November 14 (Friday – counting day). These holidays apply specifically to educational institutions and government offices that are being used as polling stations or counting centres for the byelection.
The Collector emphasized that all such establishments must remain closed to ensure smooth polling arrangements and avoid disruptions during the election process. The order ensures that employees working in these locations will receive paid leave for the mentioned dates.
Additional Restrictions and Guidelines
In addition to the holiday declaration, the district administration has enforced several restrictions to maintain peace and order during the bypoll. Bars and liquor shops in and around the Jubilee Hills area will remain closed during polling and counting days. The distribution of food or any public gatherings near polling stations is strictly prohibited to prevent any disturbances.
Parents and students in the Jubilee Hills area are advised to check with their respective schools for confirmation regarding closures. Similarly, employees in government departments located within the polling boundaries can avail paid leave as per the Collector’s order.
Focus on Peaceful Polling
Meanwhile, the administration is also taking all necessary steps to ensure peaceful and secure polling. Around 1,761 police personnel, eight paramilitary companies, and 139 surveillance drones will be deployed across the constituency. CCTV cameras have been installed at every polling booth to maintain transparency and safety.
