Hyderabad Blaze: Major Fire Breaks Out at Swapnalok Complex, Several Feared Trapped

 - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: A major fire broke out on the seventh and eighth floors of Swapnalok complex in Secunderabad on Thursday evening. The firefighting team rushed to the site after receiving a distress call at around 7.30 am. The fire tenders were pressed into service and efforts are being made to control the flames.

It is reported that several people including women are trapped inside the business complex even as huge flames of the raging fire have engulfed the top two floors. The business complex has close to 200 shops and more than 150 government and private offices.

With the help of a hydraulic crane, four people were brought down to safety. The authorities are making efforts to rescue the other people who are still trapped inside the complex. The cause of the fire is still not clear. However, locals claim the fire broke out due to a short circuit in the shopping complex.

Meanwhile, the state minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav has reached the site of the fire incident and is overseeing the rescue efforts. He said seven people have been rescued so far and the efforts are on to rescue the remaining people.

Due to the firefighting and rescue efforts, the traffic on the Swapnalok complex road has gone haywire causing jams at the nearby traffic junctions.
