Fact Check: No Petrol Bunks Bandh

There is a rumour doing the rounds that petrol bunks are running out of stock due to an impending strike. The owners of fuel stations in Hyderabad have clarified that there is no shortage. All petrol outlets in the country will remain open. Stocks are adequate to meet the demand. 

Last week, there was a sudden strike by truck drivers unions in several parts of India over a new legislation regarding hit-and-run cases. At that time, lakhs of commuters across India queued up outside petrol stations anticipating shortages.

On Tuesday, news came out that there is a shortage of petrol once again. Believing in the rumour, many commuters once again turned panicky. 

Two-wheelers, autorickshaws and four-wheelers have been seen outside petrol stations. The dust will settle down once news spreads that there are no shortages.
