EPFO PF Balance: Check Online via UMANG, Portal, SMS & Missed Call

Employees under the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) no longer need to visit their employer or EPFO office to check their PF balance. With a Universal Account Number (UAN) linked to Aadhaar and bank details, members can now track contributions and accrued interest online or via their smartphones.
4 Easy Ways to Check Your EPF Balance
1. UMANG App
- Download the UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) app.
- Log in using your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Navigate to EPFO → Employee Centric Services → View Passbook.
- Enter your UAN and OTP to view your balance instantly.
2. EPFO Member Portal
- Visit the EPFO Passbook Portal.
- Log in with your UAN and password.
- Click View Passbook to check both employer and employee contributions, along with accrued interest.
3. SMS Service
- Send an SMS in this format: EPFOHO UAN ENG to 7738299899 from your registered mobile number.
- Replace “ENG” with your preferred language code (e.g., Hindi, Tamil, Bengali) to receive regional updates.
4. Missed Call Facility
- Give a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number.
- You will receive an SMS containing your latest PF balance and last contribution details.
- Note: Your UAN must be active and linked with Aadhaar, PAN, and bank account details to use these services.
How to Link Aadhaar with UAN
EPFO has simplified the Aadhaar-UAN linking process, reducing paperwork and delays. If your Aadhaar and UAN details match, linking can be completed quickly.
Steps via UMANG App:
- Enter your UAN in the app.
- Verify OTP sent to your UAN-registered mobile number.
- Enter your Aadhaar number.
- Verify OTPs sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and email.
- Your Aadhaar will be successfully linked with your UAN.
With these digital facilities, EPFO members can stay updated on their retirement savings and plan their finances more effectively.
